Thanks-you for getting in touch with us.

Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma

Eating well is essential to your overall health and wellbeing. The general guidance is to eat a healthy balanced diet. However, we would recommend speaking to a member of your medical team, who can offer advice specific to your situation, and can also refer you to a dietician, if they feel this would be helpful. Always speak with your medical team too, before taking any supplements.

You might find the information in our Wellbeing Hub helpful.

Sorry to also hear that you recently caught a chest infection. I hope you were seen by your GP, or a member of your medical team, and that this is improving.

Cancer and its treatments can weaken the immune system.

You might get an infection if harmful organisms such as bacteria and viruses enter the body.

Your body’s immune system usually protects you from infection. But cancer and cancer treatment can stop the immune system from working properly.

It is important to try and avoid infection. This information talks about how to reduce your risk of infection.

We always advise people, that with any new, worsening or changing symptoms, that they seek medical help straightaway. This could be your GP, medical team, NHS 111, or if you feel that your condition is ever life threatening then dial 999.

Finally, just to let you know we also have non-Hodgkin lymphoma forum which you are welcome to join and Lymphoma action also provide a buddy service.
