Hi Free2bemee449c7
Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the Online Community. I can see that you are a member of the bowel cancer forum and hope you are finding it helpful. I’m Debbie, one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line. I am sorry to hear that your mom in law has been taken into palliative care and can understand your wish to visit her.
Unfortunately, we are not able to say whether it is safe for you to travel to see her, because we are not directly involved in your care and don’t have access to medical records. Your message doesn’t mention whether you are currently having cancer treatment or the type of infusion that you had. But if you are having chemotherapy or related cancer drugs at the moment, you should have a 24-hour number to call for your chemotherapy team. The team are in the best place to advise on whether it is safe for you to travel at the moment as they have access to all your medical details.
So please do contact your team and get their advice. I am sorry that we can’t answer your question fully but hope that this information is helpful. You are welcome to contact us again on the online community or by webchat, email or phone. The lines are open from 8am to 8pm every day. It is often easier to discuss things by phone. I hope that all goes well for you and your mom in law but please do contact us again if there is anything else we can help with.
With best wishes
Debbie
