  • Hi Virgo

My name is Kathryn and I am one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line.

Welcome to the online community. I can see that you have joined the breast cancer forum. I hope you’re finding it helpful to share your experience with us.

I am sorry to hear that you feel swollen and have some pain. It is difficult to know whether your symptoms are related to your zoladex injection.

If you have any new, increasing, or worsening symptoms it is always important to report these to your hospital team. This allows them to make a full assessment and decide if you require medication or further investigations to manage these symptoms. They would want to hear from you and know if you are struggling.

You should have been given a 24-hour emergency contact number for your hospital or chemotherapy unit; you need to call them today so they can assess your swelling and pain. If you do not have this number at hand, you can also call your hospital’s main switchboard which can put you through.

If you are having trouble contacting the consultant or GP and you are still concerned or have increasing symptoms you can contact the 111 services or call 999. The 111 services can advise or arrange help if this is needed.

I hope this information has been useful, please contact us whenever we can help.

    Take care.

    Kathryn
