Does anyone know of a reputable source of information about repurposed anti-parasitic drugs for human cancer treatment, especially for such questions as the status of clinical trials, risks, human dosage, where to purchase, efficacy and mitigation of side effects?  Specifically thinking of ivermectin, fenbendazole and mebendazole.

  • Hi Cellarvee,

Welcome to the Online Community and thanks for getting in touch.  My name is Fran, I am one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists.

As a cancer charity we are only able to discuss evidence-based treatments.  Because of this, we do not have the specific information you are looking for.  However, you may find it helpful to look on our website at our information regarding Alternative therapies.

It may also help to look at Cancer Research UK’s information regarding Alternative therapies and clinical trials.

For further guidance it may be helpful to go back to your clinical team as it’s important they are aware of anything you may be considering taking.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions, please get in touch by email, webchat or phone. The Macmillan Support Line offers practical, clinical, financial and emotional support. You can call us free from landlines and from most mobile phone networks* on 0808 808 00 00, 7 days a week, 8am – 8pm. You can also visit our Online Community, where you can talk to others who have been affected by cancer.

    Best wishes,
    Fran
