Hi,
I've recently moved from England to Scotland and am worried I'm going to get "lost" in the system again. (moved from Midlands to NE England and got lost for 18 months) Does anyone have any tips on what to do to make it seamless please?

Hi LisaTabs,
Thanks for getting in touch. My name is Sarah and I’m one of the cancer information nurse specialists.
I’m sorry to read that you got lost in the system when you moved to a different area in the UK, so it’s understandable why you feel the way you do now.
Once you have registered with a GP in Scotland, they will ask you for the details of your previous GP and request your information. NHS inform has more information about this that I hope you find useful to read.
Once your new GP has your previous medical records, they can then arrange investigations at the hospital or a referral to the relevant specialist if appropriate.
It’s difficult to know from the information you have given if you are currently on any treatment for cancer. If you would like to get back in touch with more information about your situation we would be more than happy to help you as much as we can.
I really hope this information was helpful, but if there's anything else we can help you with please don't hesitate to get back in touch.
Take care and best wishes,
Sarah (Cancer Information Nurse Specialist)
