Hi ,
I finished radiotherapy for breast cancer in Nov, I was wondering if there was a recommended brand of sun protection, it's a minefield of choice out there.
Thanks

Dear S19,
Thank you for getting in touch with us. I’m Alison, one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists who works on the support line here at Macmillan.
I hope you’re recovering well following your treatment for breast cancer.
Staying safe in the sun is always important, but particularly when you’ve had treatment such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy which can make the skin more sensitive.
As a charity, unfortunately, we can’t endorse any brands. When looking for suncream, ensure you have a high star UVA rating and a minimum of SPF 15 (which protects against UVB). However, we do have a partnership with Boots and Soltan. Pharmacists there can help you find a sunscreen that’s right for you.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call our support line where you can speak with one of our nurses.
Take care,
Alison,
Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
