Hi,

Has anyone experienced change in urine pH (being more potent than usual), and inflammation of the urethra or vaginal hammarage? I am on anastrozole and i have experienced all of the side-effects, but this last one is truly creating hell for me. Should I stop taking anastrozole?

Regards,

Sarka

  • Hello Sarka,

Thanks for contacting us. I’m Gail, one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line.

It is important you discuss the side effects you are experiencing with your Breast Care team before you stop taking it, as Anastrozole is an important part of managing your breast cancer.

I suggest you contact your Breast Care Nurse or the secretary of the Consultant, who prescribed the medication, to arrange an appointment. They can review the difficulties you are having and consider alternative medication.

In the meantime, speak to your GP about your symptoms and ways to manage them.

    Best wishes,

    Gail
