Hi mrs jg
Thanks for getting in touch with our online community. My name’s Louise and I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists here.
Immunotherapy can cause different side effects. Some of these can be serious. A cough may be a sign of inflammation of the lungs or an infection. If left untreated an infection can cause sepsis which can be life threatening.
Because we don’t have access to medical records here on the Support Line we can’t give medication advice.
It’s important to report any new, worsening or changing symptoms to your healthcare team. If you have been given a 24-hour number phone this straight away. Alternatively phone 111.
If you feel short of breath phone 999.
More information about immunotherapy can be found here.
Kind regards
Louise, Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
