  • Dear Trigsgirl,

Thanks for contacting Macmillan Cancer Support.  I’m Joanne, one of the cancer information nurse specialists. I can see you have also joined our breast cancer forum and I hope you are finding it helpful and supportive.

We are unable to diagnose on this platform as we don’t have access to your hospital records. We therefore tend to err on the side of caution. We normally advise people that if they have a new symptom, a symptom that persists, gets worse, or is changing then they must report to their doctor or specialist team in the first instance, so they can physically assess and best manage from there.

If you’d like to talk to one of the nurses on the Support Line, you are welcome to give us a call. The Macmillan Support Line offers practical, clinical, financial, and emotional support. You can call us free from landlines and from most mobile phone networks* on 0808 808 00 00, 7 days a week, 8am – 8pm.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to get back in touch if you want further information or support.

    Best wishes

    Joanne F,

    Cancer Information Nurse Specialist.

You can also speak with the Macmillan Support Line team of experts by phoning 0808 808 0000, calls are free, and lines are open 8am-8pm, 7 days a week, or you can send us an email or use webchat.
