Hi,

My husband has had his 6th chemo infusion on Oct 5th since then his speech is slurred, it has been ok on all other times, is this just a side affect of oxalipatin.

Thanks

I’m Gina, one of the cancer information nurse specialists here on the support line.

I am sorry to hear you husband has developed slurred speech. As we are a charity we do not have any access to NHS medical records etc, so we would always suggest that any new or worsening symptom is assessed by your husband’s treatment team.

In this case with slurred speech we would strongly advise you to get in touch with his 24hr chemotherapy helpline team urgently. If you are unable to get hold of them, then we would advise you to contact 111/999 for urgent assessment.

    Kind regards

    Gina
