If possible, please would you let me know of anywhere near Nottingham where I could get Image Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy for an infiltrative BCC on my forehead — either NHS of privately.

Hi JaneV
Welcome to the Online Community here at Macmillan. I hope you find it a helpful place to access support and ask questions. My name is Vanessa and I am one of the information nurses.
Surgery is often used to treat BCC’s as it allows assessment of margins and obtains a sample for pathology. However radiotherapy may be used when surgery is more difficult or for higher risk BCCs.
I can see little references to superficial radiotherapy in information regarding the management of BCCs which may suggest it is not a standard treatment.
The Private Healthcare Information Network allows you to search for consultants working privately who may provide this service.
You could also ask your current hospital team for recommendations of a private provider if available locally.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also always call one of our nurses directly if you want to talk over your concerns or require any further support.
Take care
Vanessa G, Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
