Hi Carron01
Welcome to the Online Community here at Macmillan. I hope you find it a helpful place to access support and ask questions. My name is Vanessa and I am one of the information nurses.
I hope you are recovering well from your lumpectomy (also known as breast conserving surgery) and lymph node removal.
After breast surgery it is important to follow any wound care advice you were given by your hospital team. This advice does vary depending upon the extent of surgery, and types of stitches used. We are therefore unable to advise on when you can resume hot baths.
We would suggest that you discuss this with your allocated nurse specialist as they are able to give specific advice about your post operative care.
You may also find it helpful to join our online breast cancer group. Many people find the peer support of others in similar circumstances reassuring to have.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also always call one of our nurses directly if you want to talk over your concerns or require any further support.
Take care
Vanessa G, Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
