Stress due to waiting for results
Hi Autumgo1d
Thanks for getting in touch. My name is Lindsey. I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurses on the Support Line.
I see that you are new to the online community. I hope you will find it a helpful and supportive place.
For many people, waiting for results is an anxious time. It can feel like a long time and the future may feel uncertain.
Some people find that it helps to carry on with their usual activities as much as possible. Things like work and going for a walk can be a distraction. Other people find concentrating on anything else difficult.
It can take a few days to weeks to get results back. It’s helpful to know when and how you will get your results. Hopefully you have a contact number for someone in the healthcare team to ask any questions you have.
It may help to get support from your family and friends. If you think it would help you can call us free on 0808 808 0000. Our line is open every day 8am-8pm. You can also contact us by Webchat.
I hope this information helps. Please get back in touch if there is anything else we can support you with.
Take Care,
Lindsey
Cancer Information Nurse.
