  • Hi Gangster gran,

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the online community. I see form your profile that you are a member of the stomach cancer forum. I hope that you are finding it supportive.

My name is Fiona and I’m one of the Macmillan cancer information nurses.

I’m glad to read that you are recovering from your surgery for stomach cancer. It’s good you feel you are getting better with eating. I hope you have the support of a dietician.

The OPA Cancer Charity has a booklet about food that you may find interesting to read.

It’s good that you have spoken to your GP about these issues that you are having. I wonder if you have contacted your specialist team at the hospital about these symptoms. This allows them to make a full assessment and decide if you require medication or further investigations to manage these symptoms.

On the Support Line we are separate to the NHS and do not have access to your medical records. Your specialist team are best placed to discuss these symptoms and their management with you.

It may help to look at this information about dumping syndrome as it can occur after surgical removal of the stomach. This information may also be useful to read.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to get back in touch if you want more information or support.

    Best wishes,

    Fiona P,

    Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
