My recent Pet Scan has shown my BC has now metastasized into Lymph nodes after 10 years of it staying put )
I have done a lot of reading into the positive effects of taking Turkey Tail mushroom extract to improve immunity & fight tumors.
i am currently on Piquray & Fulfestrant & wondering if this safe for me to take .
I would be greatful for any feedback .

I am sorry to hear your recent PET scan for Breast Cancer has now shown lymph node metastases. This must be an extremely worrying time for you and your family.
However, I am glad to know you are currently on active treatment Alpelisib (Piqray) and Fulvestrant.
With regards to Turkey Tail Mushroom Extract, also known as Coriolus Versicolor, there is currently not enough evidence to say any type of mushroom can prevent or cure cancer.
Please note the Adverse Reactions on the Coriolus Versicolor link above.
However, there is some research indicating that it may strengthen the immune system. So, research is ongoing as not enough scientific evidence base is available yet.
We advise you to err on side of caution and, recommend you take the product to your Oncology pharmacist to review the ingredients in the first instance.
This way they can make sure that there is no risk of potential interactions with any of your current medications.
It is not unusual for people to consider alternative, complimentary therapies or herbal remedies during cancer.
Please note that there is a difference between Alternative Therapy and Complimentary Therapy. Alternative therapy is used instead of conventional therapy but complimentary therapy can be used alongside conventional therapy.
However, we advocate conventional therapy and advise you have a further discussion with your healthcare team before commencing any other supplements.
CRUK and Breast Cancer Now are also good sources of information and support going forward should you wish to research this further.
