Hi

i I have been on petrodollars since February but in the past month have been getting quite bad back pain. It hurts when I get out of the car, when I stand up from my desk and basically when o do anything after sitting down. Is this normal? And what can I do to resolve it? It’s getting annoying.

  • That should say letrozole- apologies for appalling typing

  • Hi  ,

Thanks for getting in touch with us. I can see from your activity that you’ve already joined our supportive breast cancer forum and have been actively talking and supporting others. That’s good to see as there is nothing quite like the support that you can get from others who have gone through a similar experience.

Please don’t apologise for your typing, it’s easy with predict text to text do type something completely different. I can be guilty of many typing errors.

It’s not uncommon to have joint and muscle pain whilst taking Letrozole. Pain is most common in the hands and feet, but can also happen in the knees, hips, lower back, and shoulders. Some people have it all the time or for some it may come and go.

As we don’t have access to your NHS records, and we can’t properly assess you, we always advice anyone if they have any new, persistent, or worsening symptoms that it’s important they let their team know. This is so that you can be properly assessed.

Calling your Breast care nurse in the first instance can be a good place to start. They will be able to talk through your symptoms in more detail. They will also be able to organise a review by your hospital doctor if needed.

If your unable to speak to your nurse, it’s important that you call your GP or hospital team today to make an appointment so that your symptoms can be properly assessed.

    Best Wishes
