    Welcome to the online community.

I can see you have joined the bowel cancer forum and new to the community forum. I hope you’re finding it helpful to share your experience with us. You may also be interested in joining the family and friends forum.

I am sorry to read that your son has been diagnosed with rectal cancer and is awaiting his treatment plan. This must be a very difficult time for the family.

It is not possible to say what is causing your son’s stomach ache but we would always advise anyone with a new, increasing or worsening symptom to seek medical advice from his GP. This allows them to make a full assessment and decide if your son requires medication or further investigations to manage this symptom. They would want to hear from him and know if he is struggling.

If your son is having trouble contacting the GP or it is out of hours, he should contact the 111 services or call 999. The 111 services can advise or arrange help if this is needed.

I hope this information has been useful, please contact us whenever we can help.

    Take care.
