I've been taking Provera 200mg for stage 1 grade 1 endometrial cancer for 6 months now- I'm about to have my first biopsy in a few days to check progress. I have recently started to have tender/painful armpits, one side in particular gets very sore. Is this a side effect of the progesterone?

I’m sorry to read that you are having issues with tender/painful armpits whilst taking Provera. Whilst there is no mention of this in the list of side effect, breast tenderness is mentioned. Breast pain can spread into the armpit.
It is important to report any new, increasing, or worsening symptom. It is always important to report these to your GP or hospital team. This allows them to make a full assessment and decide if you require medication or further investigations to manage these symptoms. They would want to hear from you.
On the Support Line we do not have access to medical notes or NHS systems and so it is important to speak to your treatment team about this. They are best placed to discuss these symptoms with you.
