Good morning Sandra 23,
Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to our Online Community. We hope that you find it a safe and supportive space. My name is Fiona and I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line.
I see from your post that posted your question last night and that you’re having a lung biopsy today. We aim to respond to questions on this platform within three days, Monday to Friday. If you’re needing advice and support more quickly you’re very welcome to call one of the Information Nurses to talk through your concerns or use our webchat function. I do hope that you get this reply before your procedure.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re needing to have a lung biopsy today, this must be a worrying time for you all. You will be given a local anaesthetic before the procedure to numb the skin before a thin needle is passed in to the lung. Most people find that simple painkillers, such as paracetamol help afterwards, however your team will discuss this with you.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes
