I have Stage 4 Bowel Cancer with secondaries primarily in my liver.

I have a colostomy and am currently on palliative chemotherapy drug,  Regorafenib.

My son lived in Qatar and has asked me to visit for a week's trip.

Are there any issues taking Regorafenib into Qatar and do you have any other advice? I'm currently not taking any other drugs

TIA

  • Hi Backtrack

Welcome to the online community, my name is Sarah one of the nurses on the Macmillan support line.

I can see you have joined our travel insurance forum I hope it has been helpful to get information from others about travel.

It is possible to travel with medicines abroad. Your consultant will be able to talk through practical issues when travelling with Regorafenib, such as packaging with original labels and provide any letters you need to carry with you. You may also be asked to keep your medication in your hand luggage.

You will need to check if the medication is permitted in the country you are visiting.

Sometimes your cancer or side effects from treatment may affect travel. It is important to manage these to stay safe whilst travelling. You may also find this link helpful.

I hope this information will help as you plan a trip to see your son in Qatar.

Please feel free to get back in touch if you want more information or support.

    Best wishes,

    Sarah
