Pain after liver resection

Hi, I don't know where to start. I had a liver resection seven weeks ago. I had two different types of tumour. The pain has almost gone, as I said to specialist this week. But if I  was honest it's still very sore, like a sore stitch. Sometimes a shooting pain, on my insidey bit (it's numb on outside but inside where resection is hurts). Is this normal?  I  appreciate it would be sensitive at scar area. But I read pain only lasts a couple of weeks. I didn't want to bother anyone but I'm a wee teeny bit concerned.

Thanks so much in advance

I am sorry to read that you are still experiencing a lot of pain following your liver resection 7 weeks ago and I’m sorry that you didn’t feel able to tell your treatment team.

Although it could be just part of the normal process of healing after surgery it is important that you report this to your team today. This will allow them to make an assessment of your pain to decide if they need to investigate further and to prescribe some effective pain relief.

If you are unable to contact your treatment team you should speak to your GP or contact NHS 111 today.
