Hello Diggory,
Thanks for getting in touch with us and welcome to the online community. My name is Linda and I’m one of the nurses on the Macmillan support line.
It’s understandable that you are seeking relief for the side effects of letrozole. These can be difficult to cope with. I am not sure what you may have tried to help relieve your symptoms, but I hope that some of these suggestions may bring you some relief – skin changes.
You may also find this booklet from Breast Cancer Now on managing menopausal symptoms and their information on coping with other side effects helpful.
Some people find it helpful to share their experiences on the forums. You may find that others in a similar situation to you, can offer ways to cope with the side effects that they have found useful.
I would encourage you to speak with your cancer team if you are continuing to struggle with the side effects. They can review your medication and give more advice as to what may be useful, and they can prescribe creams that may help with the rough skin.
We often find we can help more by exploring these questions over the phone. If this is something you think would help, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our support line on 0808 808 0000. We are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Linda J. Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
