Hi Wonder if you could help me I start my chemotherapy in January and unfortunately it had to be stopped due my immune system being far too weak to go through any more chemotherapy at this moment I also have crohns disease which is why my immune system is too weak to go through any more chemotherapy what's my options any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the online community. My name is Karen and I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line.  

    I’m sorry to hear your chemotherapy had to be stopped in January due to your weakened immune system and your other health condition. Follicular lymphoma is a type of blood cancer. It’s a common type of slow growing (low grade) non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

    Unfortunately, we don’t have access to your NHS medical records, so are unable to provide specific information in answer to your question about what your options might be.

    We recommend that you speak to your consultant haematologist and/or your clinical nurse specialist if you have one. They may also want to liaise with the consultant that is managing your Crohn’s disease about the medications you are taking for this which may have an impact on your immune system. These questions to ask your healthcare team may help you to think through the questions you have about any possible options for you and what this means.
