My sister has recently had a mastectomy, next is radiotherapy and immunotherapy. We know nothing about immunotherapy or what to expect and online it’s scary… can you give any information? Thanks

  • Hello Twin

Thanks for getting in touch with us and welcome to the online community. My name is Linda and I am one of the nurses on the Support Line.

I appreciate that this is a scary time for you both.

It would be helpful if you could share what is scaring you about immunotherapy, is it the side effects?

I would encourage you to give us some more details about your sister’s breast cancer.  This will help us to answer your question in a bit more detail. It’s helpful to know the type of breast cancer and is the cancer  a HER2 positive breast cancer?

We often find we can help more by exploring these questions over the phone. If this is something you think would help, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our support line on 0808 808 0000. We are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
