Hello Potter16
Thanks for getting in touch. My name is Helen, I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurses on the Macmillan Support Line.
Welcome to the online community.
I was sorry to learn your son has been diagnosed with a lymphoma and this has impacted his college attendance, and therefore his money.
You have asked if he is entitled to PIP (Personal Independence Payments), or any other benefits.
We would highly recommend you and your son give our benefits advice team a call as they will be able to explain the benefits that your son might be able to access.
The Macmillan Support Line offers practical, clinical, financial and emotional support. You can call us free from landlines and from most mobile phone networks on 0808 808 00 00, 7 days a week, 8am – 8pm.
You may have discovered Lymphoma UK for additional information and support, but if your son is interested in making connections with others who are in the same situation and is aged over 20, he may find SHINE a really helpful charity to connect with.
If he is under 20 years of age, Teenage Cancer Trust and Young Lives vs Cancer both provide excellent age-appropriate support services.
If you feel that you would like to give is a call to talk though how your son’s diagnosis has impacted you, please don’t hesitate to call us on the above number. Or you can get back in contact via email or webchat
I do hope this information is useful.
Best wishes, Helen
