Hi all,

I have been on Letrozole tablets 2.5mg for about one year now following chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions.

Does anyone have any experience of the side effects (my legs ache and my fingers feel stiff first thing in the morning).

Thank you all and compliments of the season to you all!

  • Hi Flegon,

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to our online community.

My name is Carole and I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line. I see from your profile that you have joined a couple of our online groups and that others have been sharing their experiences with you. I hope you’ll continue to find it a good source of support.

I’m sorry to read that you have aching legs and that your fingers feel stiff in the morning. Muscle and joint pain can be a common side effect of letrozole, but it’s important to talk to your treatment team or GP about any side effects. Sometimes side effects are easy to manage, and sometimes it can be trial and error. However, they can usually recommend medication or tips which can help.

We’d recommend that you give them a call. If you have a breast care nurse, you could get in touch with them.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to get back in touch if you want more information or support.

    Best wishes,

    Carole
