Hi ,

I am a new member of this cancer group. I have this cancer treatment - ADT (3 monthly injection of Zoladex 10.8mg, Abiraterone (Zytiga) 1000 mg daily and Prednisone 5mg daily - for almost 5 years.

Question :  If I missed one injection dosage of Zoladex 10.8 mg, will there be serious complications to my treatment and cancer???

I am still taking the Zytiga and prednisone.

Thank you for your advice.

Kenny

  • Hello Kenny

Thanks for getting in touch. My name is Helen, I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurses on the Macmillan Support Line.

    Welcome to the online community.

You have asked if missing a dose of zoladex will make a significant difference to the treatment you are receiving. Because you are still having the abiraterone, which is another type of hormone treatment, the missed dose is unlikely to be significant.

However, its important to chat through the issue with your urology team for reassurance as they know you and know your prostate cancer.

I hope this information is useful. Please don’t hesitate to get back in contact by email, webchat or phone, if you need further information or support.
