Hi , I have prostate cancer 3+4=7 locally advanced, I’m on my third monthly HT jab Friday , as I have Crohn’s I have had to have a colonoscopy to determine if the Crohn’s is active so I can have any treatments, a professor won’t do an Opp and radiotherapy consultant said same as it’s deemed too risky and risk of death !!, so this morning’s appointments with them only got we need a second opinion from Leeds Hospital consultant, so now I have to wait again to see if I can get this thing out of me soon as , is there anyone on here who has Crohn’s and prostrate cancer as I’m so confused about it all , thanks Jonny Mac

  • Hi Jonny Mac,

Thanks for getting in touch, and welcome to our online community.

My name is Carole and I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line.

We know that being treated for cancer can often be an overwhelming and confusing experience. Clinic appointments can be short and it’s not unusual to have lots of questions after a consultation. If you have a clinical nurse specialist (CNS), you could give them a call. If you haven’t, your consultant’s secretary should be able to arrange for you to speak again to a healthcare professional within the hospital team. If you’d like any tips on talking to healthcare staff, we have this information on our website.

We don’t have access to medical notes, but can often provide general information, and we can always listen. Sometimes it’s just helpful to talk over what’s happening.

I can see from your profile that you’ve joined our Prostate cancer forum. You could post a message on there, and ask if like you, any other members have Crohn’s disease.

If you’d prefer to speak to someone over the phone, Prostate Cancer UK have a one-to-one support service. The support is provided by trained volunteers who can listen to your issues and concerns and share their own personal experience with you.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,

    Carole
