Hi Beverley,
Welcome to the online community. My name is Penelope and I am one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists. I am sorry to hear that you have been experiencing sore and watery eyes. As the treatment you are on can reduce the ability to fight infection, we would always suggest contacting the chemotherapy unit straight away to report these symptoms and seek advice. They should be able to suggest some eye drops to help. If you are unable to get through to the chemotherapy unit please speak to your GP or NHS 111 if you are in England, Wales or Scotland.
I have linked to our information on paclitaxel and phesgo. Both treatments do list watery, sore eyes as one of the possible side effects. It is important that you get these symptoms assessed as red and inflamed eyes could be a sign of conjunctivitis which may need eye drops that contain antibiotics.
It may be reassuring to know that other users of the online community have posted about watery eyes and some do report getting relief from eye drops suggested by their chemotherapy team. I hope that this information is helpful. Please do get some further advice today from the hospital, GP or NHS 111.
Best wishes
Penelope, Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
