Should I be worried about bruising where the cannula was removed on the 18/07/2023

  • Hello The Climb,

    Thanks for getting in touch with us and welcome to the online community. My name is Linda, I’m one of the cancer information nurse specialists on the support line.

    It’s common to have some bruising around the cannula area. It should fade and heal with time. If your skin is painful, broken, or if you have redness and/or swelling, I would encourage you to speak to your cancer nurse or contact your treatment team. They may need to examine it and will advise you of ways to relieve it.
