Hi Paul03,
Thank you for contacting us and welcome to our Online Community. My name is Kerry, I’m one of the Cancer information nurse specialists on our Macmillan Cancer Support Line.
I’m sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with MGUS. I hope that you are coping well, it is normal to feel worried, most people with MGUS don’t go on to develop cancer but if you find you’re struggling do speak with your doctor to arrange counselling if needed.
There is no evidence to suggest that lifestyle changes make a difference to whether MGUS progresses. It is important that you go to your check ups as planned and tell your doctor or nurse if you notice any changes.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and diet is always recommended for everyone so that we can live well.
I hope this has been helpful. Please don’t hesitate to get back in touch if we can help further.
Best wishes,
Kerry
