Hi Little Nannie,
Thank you for contacting us and welcome to our Online Community. My name is Kerry, I’m one of the Cancer information nurse specialists on our Macmillan Cancer Support Line.
I hope that you are recovering and doing well after your WLE. I’m unsure as to the type of breast cancer you have and if you have had lymph nodes removed but we know that after such surgeries swelling can be present. This can be due to many reasons such as scar tissue, infection, fluid build up or cording.
Any new, changing, or worsening symptoms we would always recommend you speak with your breast care team or GP. Side effects from the surgery usually settle down after 6-8 weeks but do let your team know if this isn’t easing.
I hope this is helpful but please don’t hesitate to get back in touch if we can help further.
Take care
Kerry,
Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
