Hi, Im looking for some advice if you can, please.

I had a breast lumpectomy with sentinel lymph node removal on the 7th of March. My healing has been good, scar in both my breast & armpit look good. I have however being getting a very unusual pain in a part of my breast away from the incision ( which was at the very bottom of my breast ) The pain is at the top right side of my breast when I lean forward or turn on my right side. It seems to be when my breast is 'moving'  It's a 'piercing' pain as if Ive just been stabbed. Very sore and very uncomfortable. Is this normal? I've read a lot about recovery etc & haven't come across anything suggesting this kind of pain.it subsides when I go back to a normal 'upright' position. Sleeping on my right side is impossible because of it & doing any sort of activity which requires leaning forward is also impossible because of the pain. Should this be happening 3 weeks after my surgery? Many thanks for any help you can give me.

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the online community. I see from your profile that you have joined a few of our groups. I hope you are finding them supportive.

It is good to read that your healing after the lumpectomy is going well.

Some people find that after surgery they have changes in sensation in the breast area on the operated side. These symptoms are common.

On the Support Line we don’t have access to your notes and so we would recommend that you speak to your breast care nurse or doctor about the pain you are experiencing. They can examine you and speak to you about any medication you may need.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to get back in touch if you want more information or support.
