I have adenocarcinoma (lung cancer) that has spread to my heart with a poor prognosis. I’ve been having chemotherapy and immunotherapy since last June.
I would really like to go on holiday but told that flying is too risky so we have decided as a family to go to Disney Paris instead of Disney Florida. I would really like some advice on Travel insurance and how people feel about travelling. I am quite scared of the risk of getting sick but want to give my family the best time when I’m able.

  • Hi VictoriaP

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the online community. I hope you find it supportive.

I’m sorry to read about your lung cancer and the prognosis you have been given.

Many people who have cancer enjoy travelling without any problems. However, for some people, travel and holidays can be more difficult due to the effects of cancer and cancer treatments. Talking to your doctor or specialist nurse may help with getting specific advice to manage any potential issues.

You may want to use our Travel Planning checklist to help you and your family to prepare for your trip away.

Travel Insurance gives protection if something goes wrong when you are away. You may find our information on travel insurance helpful. You could also contact our financial guides on the Macmillan Support Line for further information and support about getting insurance.

We also have an online community group about travel insurance which sometimes people find helpful to read about other people’s experiences and to ask questions.

I hope you and your family have a great time at Disney Paris.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to get back in touch if you want more information or support.

    Best wishes,
