Hello

I've found by searching on the Internet, the above, it is a comparatively recently discovered treatment!

I've spoken to a representative from the Company who's all for it (they probably earn a very nice commission!) and I am curious / anxious to find out if anybody has experienced themselves (or a friend or family member) this treatment.

It sounds entirely amazing and I'm advised, by the representative that it never fails to work (this I hear with some trepidation!).

It's not cheap at £40,000 for a 6-month session which includes, from the way I understand it, a personalised dose of vaccine(s) which will boost your immune system and fight the cancer cells.  Or, so I'm told, totally cure you !?!?!

Please, can anyone tell me if this is genuine or a total scam?

I look forward to your response (or anyone else's).

Thank you.

  • Hello Thumpa58

Thanks for getting in touch. My name is Helen, I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurses on the Macmillan Support Line. Welcome to the online community.

Thank you for your query around Immucura Dentritic Cell Therapy. As you say, this is a new treatment and as such is not yet available on the NHS.

However, there are clinical trials being carried out in some NHS hospitals that are looking into the benefits of adding this treatment to standard therapies, and it will be very interesting to see what the trials show in the future.

Until the evidence shows the advantage of the treatment (or otherwise), its hard for us as cancer nurses to say what the outcome might be for someone undergoing the therapy.

It would be helpful to speak to your cancer specialist who may have insight into the treatment with particular reference to your cancer, and any clinical trials in which you could participate.

Also, it may be useful to post your query in our online community forum under your particular cancer type. It would be very helpful to ask others about their experience.

I hope this information is useful. Please don’t hesitate to get back in contact by email, web chat or phone, if you need further information or support.

The Macmillan Support Line offers practical, clinical, financial and emotional support. You can call us free from landlines and from most mobile phone networks* on 0808 808 00 00, 7 days a week, 8am – 8pm.
