Hi NanaQueen ,
Welcome to our Online Community. I see that you’ve joined our very supportive breast cancer forum. We hope that you find it helpful.
Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) oil is an oil made from the flowers of the cannabis plant. Some online sites claim that it can treat cancer, but there is no solid evidence for this.
Unlike many other cannabis oils, RSO is high in tetrahydrocannabinols (THC) which is the main psychoactive chemical in marijuana. THC is the chemical in marijuana that provides the “high” Because of this it is illegal to buy in the UK.
Macmillan have this information about Cannabis oil and cancer that can be helpful to read.
Cancer Research UK have further information about Cannabis, CBT oil and cancer They also have this blog about the evidence so far, in relation to Cannabis, cannabinoids and cancer that you can read too.
We would always encourage anyone who is taking or thinking of taking cannabis products to speak with their medical team. This is because THC has potential side effects. It can increase your heart rate, cause dizziness, hallucinations and in some instances cause paranoia. It can also affect how some medicines work.
I hope this information is helpful. Please don’t hesitate to get back in touch if there is anything else that we can help you with. We are available 7 days a week 8am to 8pm on 0808 808 0000. Or you can send an email.
Kind regards,
