It's completely safe post chemotherapy! :-)
Hello Brianne23,
Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to our online community.
After chemotherapy, the growth rate of hair can vary a great deal.
Cancer Hair Care is the UK’s leading hair loss support charity and they explain that as long as you can see new growth coming, it might be that your hair is growing at a slower rate whilst the follicle recovers and gains strength.
Unfortunately, we can’t recommend any products which might help, but it might be helpful to have a look at this booklet, My New Hair, which contains a section on Hair After Cancer Treatment.
It might be worth asking your question within one of our online forums as they can be a good source of information and support.
We’d also recommend speaking to your GP, perhaps asking if routine bloods need to be checked (as occasionally these can affect hair growth), or whether you should be referred to dermatology for advice.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Carole - Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
