Hi Jim
Welcome to the online community.
My name is Sarah one of the cancer information nurses on the Macmillan support line.
There can be several reasons why fluid builds up around the neck and face and this may or may not be related to any treatment you have had.
Any new symptom needs to be reviewed by a medical professional. In some cases there can be medical emergencies which need to be treated urgently and one of these is called Superior Vena cava obstruction. This is where a vein in the neck becomes restricted and one symptom of this is neck and facial swelling.
If you haven’t seen a doctor about this, contact your GP or hospital team as soon as possible as it will need to be treated straight away. If you are unable to speak with you GP or hospital team then call 111 and if symptoms worsen then call 999.
If we can help with anything else Jim please don’t hesitate to get back in touch.
Best Wishes
Sarah S
