Breast bruises

I woke up 6 days ago to find a large purple bruise on my right breast, 6 days later there seems to be no change for the better of the bruise. I havent knocked it or had any trauma to my breast, the bruising hasn't got a lump under it or anything. Also no pain, but the odd ache in general. 

Because it hasnt changed, got any lighter etc and it came from nowhere I have contacted the drs.. so I'm hoping they will be able go ease my mind a bit. As I'm worried as what it could be. Hoping just a bruise or nothing serious.. has anyone had anything like this and what was it

    It’s understandable to have questions about this large purple bruise which has appeared on your breast. As you say, bruises usually form after a knock or trauma, but when they are unexplained, they should be checked by a healthcare professional.

    Unfortunately, as nurses on this type of platform, we can’t say if this is a bruise, or something else.

    Breast changes can happen for many reasons. The NHS recommend that anything that looks or feels different is assessed by a doctor.

    We’re pleased to hear that you have contacted your GP. After assessment, they may refer you to a breast clinic for more tests.
