  • Hi Dando,

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to our online community. My name is Suzanne and I am one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists.

It sounds as though you have a number of symptoms that are worrying you at the moment and as you are a parent and carer you are bound to be anxious about your health.

We would always recommend that if you have new or worsening symptoms you should seek medical assessment as soon as possible. If you feel that your concerns are not being addressed, you may wish to speak to a different GP in the practice for a second opinion. You could also ask to speak to your practice manager about your concerns.

It is important to remember though that there could be various different causes of your symptoms other than cancer.

That said, it is completely human to worry about your health and this can cause a great deal of anxiety. You may find this resource on overcoming fear and anxiety helpful. Anxiety UK also have a helpline should you wish to reach out for support when you are feeling very anxious.

I really hope that you are able to get the support you need and that you will find the resources mentioned helpful.

    Best wishes and take care,

    Suzanne, Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
