Hello Pmr 1,
Thanks for getting in touch with us. It’s understandable that you are worried about your bad stomach and smell when you burp. I appreciate that it’s not very pleasant for you.
There are a few reasons why you may be experiencing this, it could be something that you have eaten. Gas is produced when bacteria is breaking down the food. This can cause foul smelling burps. Other reasons include if you have any Gastrointestinal problems and/or infection.
Your pancreas helps to break down food and it’s common for it to cause problems with eating and digesting food. Symptoms can include bloating of the stomach, lots of wind and burping.
I am not sure if you have spoken to your cancer team about your stomach and burping, if not I would encourage you to let them know. It’s the best way to find out what is causing it and they can recommend ways to help reduce or alleviate it.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Linda J, Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
