Hi, have colon, liver and ovarian cancer is green vomit a cause for concern ?
Hi Fis,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the online community.
My name is Eileen and I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line.
Green or vomit or yellowish vomit may indicate that you’re bringing up a fluid called bile. This fluid is created by the liver and stored in your gallbladder.
Bile isn’t always a cause for concern. People with less serious conditions that cause vomiting while their stomach is empty can experience this type of vomiting.
It can sometimes be associated with serious problems such as a blockage in the bowel. As it can be a symptom of underlying problems that require urgent attention it’s important that you make your treatment team aware today that this is happening. They will review you to determine the cause of your vomiting.
If you’re unable to speak to your treatment team, please call NHS111 and if you’re symptoms worsen call 999.
I hope this is helpful but please don’t hesitate to get back in touch if you need further information or support.
Best wishes
Eileen
