Hi

i had a lobectomy on 30/12/21, frozen section showed adenocarcinoma so proceeded with lobectomy (I consented to this at initial appt) cannot fault my care or speed I have been treated with. Surgeon doesn’t think there is any lymph node involvement, but will look at full report to see if I need any follow up chemo/radiotherapy.

Just wanted to throw some light on what I found to be a very worrisome time, keep your chin up guys !! Xx

  • Hi Indian,

Thank you for getting in touch and welcome to the online community.  My name is Adrienne and I’m one of the Cancer Information Nurses at Macmillan.

It’s great to hear that you had your surgery so quickly after diagnosis and you cannot fault your care.  Having a cancer diagnosis can be a very worrying time and by supporting each other on this platform, you can help each other through this by sharing experiences or just by reaching out to let each other know you are not alone.

I really do wish you all the best with your next appointment.  I have added in some links to information on chemotherapy for lung cancer as well as radiotherapy if you would like to know a bit more about these treatments prior to your appointment.  It can help to arm you with any questions you may have for your consultant, should you be offered further treatment.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of any help in the future.  You can also email us back and we aim to reply within two working days.

    Take care and best wishes,

Adrienne (Macmillan Cancer Information Nurse Specialist)
