Hi any recommendations for insurers who will offer cover within 3 yrs of a cancer diagnosis after a complete response & completing chemo/surgery/radiotherapy.
Hello Caitlin
Thank you for contacting us, my name’s Vicky and I’m a Support Advisor here at Macmillan. It’s so good to hear treatments are completed now and it sounds like things are going well?
Unfortunately, we aren’t allowed to make any personal recommendations to you for insurance companies however we can give you some tips on where to go to find some. We have some information on our website too that may help, I’ve put a link in for you to take a look.
The British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) may be a good place to start Caitlin, they will let you filter out information for specific types of insurance, such as life cover with a medical condition and then it will show you insurance companies that you can contact directly. They also have a similar search for travel insurance too, as you mentioned that in your question.
Money Helper is another good place to look for advice on any kind of insurance, again, for travel insurance they have a search where you can filter out your specific requirements and it should bring you a list of recommendations.
Finally, Caitlin it’s worth having a look on our Online Community, people post recommendations on their for companies, prices etc. and you can always post yourself, asking for any suggestions, again I’ve put a link to our forums here for you. There’s also a specific forum for travel insurance as it’s a common issue for our customers. We also have a booklet on Travel & Cancer booklet that you might like to take a look at too.
Again, I’m sorry that I can’t provide more specific recommendations for you Caitlin, but I hope that the information I’ve given helps you find what you need. Please remember that you can always give us a call or chat if you want to talk things through further, we’re here every single day from 8am to 8pm on 0808 808 0000 or on chat.
Kindest regards,
Remember you can also speak with the Macmillan Support Line team of experts. Phone free on 0808 808 0000 (7 days a week, 8am-8pm) or by email.
