Insurance - Do I need to advise them?

Hi,

Polyp removed Dec 24, advised somewhere between a rare sarcoma & not.  MRI, CT all clear but advised to have full hysterectomy (everything out) which I had end of Apr 25.  Still no definitive results.

Do I need to advise my life insurance or travel insurance? Of what?

Thx

  • Hi  ,

It sounds like it must have been quite an intense time for you recently with your surgery and also no definitive results. I hope you're recovering well.

Here on the Macmillan Support team we're unable to give exact guidance on Insurance policies or policy providers. However, you would usually have to tell insurance companies as soon as possible about changes to your health or any pre-existing conditions.

You would need to speak to your Insurers directly or review your insurance policy documents to determine what they would or would not need to be notified of (and within what time frame) when it comes to medical investigations, surgeries and diagnosis.

Their customer service teams should be able to provide further clarity for you - you will be able to find their contact details on your policy documents. It would be best to do this as soon as possible to ensure no disruption of your insurance cover.

I hope this helps in some way,
