I am on ADP which is £110 + 84 per week. I have not worked since early 2024 due to my condition. I still pay bills and ADP does not meet my outgoings. Can you advise if there are other support I can get. I am in pallitive care for terminal illness. Macmillans were most helpful in facilitating the original ADP claim. Hope you can help. Thanks.

My name’s Liz and I’m a Support Advisor here at Macmillan.  I am sorry to hear you have a terminal diagnosis, I can't imagine how difficult that can be.

I’m pleased you have come back to us to explore your options.  I am assuming today you are enquiring about financial support, but, please feel, we are here for you to support you emotionally and clinically as well.

From your previous experience, you will know Macmillan can support you, and here on the Support Line, we have a Money Team, that can look at your financial situation and give you some advice on any additional benefits that you may be entitled to, as a person living with cancer.   I would suggest having a chat with them, they are available, from Monday on our helpline by calling 0808 808 0000 and choosing options 1 and 2. They are also available through email and online chat, the team are here every Monday to Friday from 8am-6pm.

We also have a web page called Help with the cost of cancer that may be useful for you too, I’ve put a link for you to have a look at.

In addition to our services  there is an organisation called Scope that has some good advice with regards to financial support for the disabled.  As you scroll down the page, you will notice their highlighted text for those with a terminal diagnosis.

I want you to know that the Macmillan Support Line is here for you, as a place you can contact privately and confidentially to talk through how you’re feeling and access emotional support, We are here every day of the week from 8am to 8pm on 0808 808 0000 or via web chat, please do keep in touch as much as needed.

    Take care

    Liz
