Good Morning, I'm hoping someone can help please?

I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Skin Cancer.  I am awaiting a further biopsy and the test to see if it has spread to my lymph nodes.

Would a Critical Illness Cover policy cover this type of Cancer.  And would an insurance company offer cover whilst I am waiting to find out?

Many Thanks.

  • Hello swiftlc and thank you for contacting the online community.

We don’t have any specialist teams that can help you with your query about critical illness cover but you might find our webpage on Insurance and Cancer helpful. MoneyHelper also has information about insurance on their website.

I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I appreciate waiting for biopsies and tests can be unsettling, how do you feel you’re managing just now? Do you have much support around you? We’d be more than happy to talk things through with you.

We have a team of cancer specialist nurses here on the support line if you have any clinical questions you’d like to ask about your diagnosis.

Our team of Money Advisers can perform a benefit check for you and give guidance and information about what kind of financial support might be available. They will need information about your income, outgoings and any savings/investments you might have.

Our skin cancer forum is a support group for people diagnosed with skin cancer (including basal cell carcinoma & squamous cell carcinoma), their family members & loved ones. You can join this group to share experiences, emotional support, discuss treatment & side effects.

We’re also here for your emotional support swiftlc. Cancer can bring up all sorts of feelings and it can be helpful to talk about these to try and process what’s happening.
