Coping with endometrial cancer diagnosis
I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with endometrial cancer.
At times like this emotions can become over whelming. Do you have plenty of support around you at this time daria1 ? Your post sounds as though you are not coping, perhaps you would like to tell us a little more about yourself and your current situation. May I ask, is your GP supporting you after your diagnosis? If you haven’t yet had a chance to speak with them, they will know the best local support and recommend a service in your area.
Please know we are here to support you on the Macmillan Support Line as a place you can contact for emotional support and a listening ear if needed? We can also help explore additional support options, and have other expert teams on the line who can support with any general medical questions or concerns over finances or work should they be contributing to how you are feeling at the moment. The Support Line is available 7 days a week on:0808 808 00 00 8am-8pm or you can chat with us via web chat if preferred.
I appreciate you have mentioned “mental health” advice in your post, here at Macmillan, as mentioned we can provide a listening ear, but we are not trained in mental health support, that doesn’t mean however that we can’t help. I mentioned additional options, and, if you feel cancer specific counselling is something you would like to look into, you may ask us all about it, by ringing the Support Line, or you may like to look into it via the link below. It explains who the support is tailored to, and you may refer yourself for a Well being Assessment: just a little note here, should you make a booking, the assessment is 45 to 50 minutes long. Additionally daria1 our webpage Cancer and your Emotions may also be a useful resource, as it talks through the emotional impact a cancer diagnosis can have: there is also a booklet that can be downloaded which walks you through who to talk to when you are struggling.
daria1 I am mindful to not overwhelm you with information as you can always come back to us.
Do keep in touch on the support line if you need any support or have any questions.
