Hi I was wondering if you can loan/hire a reclining chair for my mum? She can’t get comfortable, however she went for her 2nd lot of chemo yesterday, and the chairs that they have are the only thing that gives her some relief.
thanks in advance x

Hello Boogaloo and thank you for contacting the online community.
I’m sorry to hear your mum’s struggling to get comfortable just now. It makes sense that you might want to arrange for her to have a chair like the ones at the hospital if they give her some relief.
An Occupational Therapist (OT) or physiotherapist can give you advice on this. They may be able to provide a more suitable chair, such as a recliner chair. Your mum could speak to her hospital team or GP surgery to see if this is possible.
Carers UK has a list of equipment and adaptations you may find helpful and Living Made Easy also has useful information on their website. Some people may be able to get a Macmillan grant to help pay for equipment too.
I appreciate it can’t be easy seeing your mum struggle through her treatment Boogaloo, how are you just now? We’re here to support you and your mum emotionally as well as practically so please stay in touch if it helps to talk or if you have any further questions.
Take care.
