My input is not a question, but to share an experience. I am 60 and was diagnosed with stage 3 Myeloma in February. I’m currently in hospital having received a stem cell transplant yesterday (and not looking forward to the next 10-15 days!).
But I am here much more content having just last week received a critical life policy payout. Even though I’d been a senior executive of a large company it took an ad hoc comment from my son to ask if I might qualify for a valid claim under critical life cover associated with the mortgage. I’m sure I’d have got around to consider this in due course, but it wasn’t foremost in my mind. It should have been. Now my mortgage has been repaid and my wife and I can plan for both our retirements to enjoy to our best and make memories of what time I have. So much worry and stress has been removed by this.
I know not everyone will be so fortunate, but I hope this will motivate others to look at insurance cover associated with their mortgage.
